The community of Emerson is undergoing a pipeline survey due to recent flooding problems within the borough. Several sewer lines will be inspected, cleaned and drained. Residents of the neighborhood have voiced their concerns after the heavy rains, which prompted the City to take action. This month, the council approved several locations for survey of the pipelines, including Vivian Ave. and Powell rd. So far, there have been seven areas of the underground infrastructure that have reported issues which have been attributed to probable causes of flooding. The City is using a camera within several hundred feet of pipe. This method has most accurately detected the sections of difficulty. There is a budget put in place for the evaluations, which will also include, analyzing specific sizing and structure of the affected pipeline.
